Bolt action pen

I'm expanding my pen line a bit with these bolt action pens.  I didn't do my usual finish on the darker one to leave it looking more like a gun stock.  I did glossy on the second.  $30 a piece if interested.

Girl Scout bridging ceremony bridge

I was tasked with building a bridge to represent Avery's girl scout troop 'bridging' from Daisies to Brownies.  It's made from a 2x10, a few old pallets and some reclaimed hand rail spindles.

The rope ends are epoxied into the spindle.  Hopefully it holds up.

Exotic bottle stoppers

Avery and I went to Woodcraft today (her request believe it or not (they always have free cookies)).  They had 2/3 off a bag of exotic bottle stopper blanks.  I decided to pick up a bag.  Some of this wood is very cool.  The one in the middle has my standard finish.  The black one is ebony and is just polished, no finish.  The reddish one is just friction polish.

I have no idea what kind of wood this is but it seems to be some sort of burl.  It was hard as a rock.  This is what it looked like before finish.

This ebony doesn't even need a finish to look complete.  This is what it looked like after sanding.

This is what Avery worked on.  On the left is a hat rack and a desk.  The 'biscuit' in the middle is a rug.  The round thing is a magazine rack.  On the right is a bed with a happy person sleeping.  I'm told the thing between the magazine rack and bed are stairs?

She plans to make Afton and Drew's room tomorrow.
