Rustic, ant hole bar stool.

This is (was) first of 3 new bar stools I'm making.  Unfortunately this one is too narrow, has rungs too low, and full of holes that hurt ones butt.  The top is walnut stained honey locust and the bottom is painted/glazed poplar.

The holes don't hurt his butt.

Not so perfect dish

I posted the top part of this dish/bowl before.  It's not the greatest piece of work because the wood was so rotted and falling apart.  However, I started liking it more and more as it sat around the shop.  I made a base for it... gotta like the spalted wood.

Baby rattle

A guy at work is having a baby so I thought I would make him a baby rattle.  Who knows, his kid may like it too.  It's hard to make walnut look good without any finish.  I just used wax so it could be safely chewed on.  This one is also not as rounded as I would like.  I'm going to try a different one sometime.

Spalted dish

I tried to turn this dish from another large chunk of very spalted, mostly rotted piece of wood I found in the woods.  It looks terrible up close, it's just too hard to turn with most of it being so soft.  If it was all somewhat stable it would make a really cool looking dish.
