Drywall tape

Not all the drywall is hung but they have already started to tape some of it.

We realized we're missing a can light in the far left corner.

Drywall

We're finally at the drywall stage.  It's amazing what a crew can do in one day.  We didn't get to walk around much because they were still working, but it looks like they are about 75% done hanging drywall.

This is the kitchen/4 season room.

Insulation

I headed up to the house today to add some insulation to interior walls.  The goal is to sound proof a bit so one screaming kid doesn't wake another sleeping kid.

They finished adding the shakes to the gables.

This is our framed fireplace hearth.

The master tub is framed.

They have most of the exterior insulation done.  This is our bonus room.

I had them add a framed wall in the basement.  This will eventually be my workshop.

Poor man's truck

I've been wanting another truck for a while but with all the money going into this house and gas prices almost 4 bucks a gallon, that isn't happening anytime soon.  I started looking around and found a temporary solution.  So far it's only cost me $400.

I got this beauty at Harbor Freight for $250.  It's exactly 4'x8'.  It won't be carrying much like this as I need to get a sheet of treated plywood for the bed.  There are rail holders on the side so it will be easy to make side rails too.

The hitch and wiring kit for the car was only $150.  Installing the hitch on the car was by far the hardest part.  The nice thing was that the manufacturer has threaded holes already in the frame so it bolted right up.  The hardest part was the threaded holes were full of rust and the hitch place sent me the wrong bolts.  After 1/2 a can of WD-40 and 2 trips to Lowes I finally got it installed.  No need to do my P90X workout after that mess.

The best part is that this thing folds right up and doesn't take up much garage space.

Hardy Plank

Avery and I went to the house today to run some coax cable.  There have been a few updates since our last visit.

The Hardy plank is on.  There's a pile of shakes in the garage so I'm assuming that will be done soon.

The fireplace is installed.  Avery said, "Daddy, I really like this TV".

Our egress window is installed.

This is the window in the basement under our 4 season room.

The breaker box is installed.

The porch columns have been wrapped.

Another lot in the neighborhood has been cleared.  Looks like we'll have some new neighbors.

Lots of wires

The electricians have been busy running wire.  We also have all the 'smart' board in place around windows, etc.  The bonus room sky light is pretty cool... probably should have got 2 of those.

Smart board and start of electric

They started the 'smart' board on the exterior of the house.  I have no idea why it's called smart board.  There is also evidence that the electrician has been there.

Doors, stairs, and pipes

I'm too lazy to put these pictures in an order that makes sense, but here are some random shots of things that have happened in the last week.

Here are the stairs to the upstairs bonus room

The bath tub in the girls room

Shower in the Master Bedroom

Stairs to the basement

Enormous basement

This is our 'free' room.  It was supposed to be crawl space.

This is the first time we've been in the bonus room.

Concrete

The concrete truck was busy on Thursday and Friday.  They poured our basement, garage, and porch.  The shingles appear to be complete as well.  This is good as they are calling for rain the next four days.

This will be our view.
