Large movable lumber rack/cart

I finished my shop wall bump-out minus some drywall on the inside.  I up-cycled the old wall and made this lumber cart.  This was a much needed addition to the shop.  It has casters but it's pretty heavy and not very easy to move.

I need to add another row of these half shelves.

Storage for sheet goods.

Storage for tiny stuff and things that roll.

I made 4 of these and they are all full already.  I didn't plan for future growth.

Some wood storage

I was able to take advantage of some space under my out feed table for wood storage.  This works well for anything under 4' and has cleaned up thing quite a bit.

Bunk bed with desk, shelves and drawers

While I was home alone I spent almost the entire time building a new bed for Afton.  I wanted it complete so I could surprise her when she got home.  I got the plans from ana-white.com and modified them a bit.  This was more work than I thought.  I worked a few full evenings then spent 2 straight 14 hour days in the shop.  I didn't get it quite done but it was enough to surprise her.

Afton loves the new bed (Avery and Drew do too).

The left side will get 5 drawers.

The desk will get 2 drawers too.

The ladder is temporary.  I'll make a nicer one later.

Drill press stand

Many of my tools are in need of a home.  Most are still sitting on the basement floor.  I decided to start with my drill press.  Like most other recent projects, this one is kind of a mutt.  It's made from pine, plywood, and mdf.  There are a few firsts for me on this one such as flush mounted drawer fronts and a raised panel door.

Done!  Yeah, the hinges look terrible and I was very lazy to just slap them on.  However, if I would have mortised some hinges before doing the ones on Miranda's cabinet I would have never heard the end of it.

Even Bigger Shelf

I wasn't sure what to do with this strange corner of the garage.  A big shelf seemed like the obvious answer.

I now have a much needed big shelf in my shop.  It could stand to have a few more shelves, but I can always add those later.

Upgraded garage cabinet

I built a framed pegboard hanger for the garage french cleat system.  After hanging it I realized I was quickly running out of wall space.  I then noticed it looked the same size as the shelf I made.  I held them next to each other and the pegboard frame was only about 1/16 wider than the shelf, good enough for garage work.  I ended up making a shelved door for the existing shelf with the pegboard panel as the door front.

Storage room

Since we have such a large basement (and mostly because we have so much junk) we decided to wall off part of it for a storage room.  Below is the progress.  I made a bunch of ugly but sturdy shelves out of scrap wood, 2x4s, and cheap plywood.  I also ran separate electric so it has its own lighting and electrical outlet.
