Kitchen coffee station turned something else

I finally finished the kitchen coffee station that I got suckered into making.  I say that because I was hoping for a manly coffee station but ended up with just more real estate for doilies, plastic fruit and antique glassware.

I'm told I shouldn't post this yet because it's not properly decorated.  I'm not sure what that means.

Kinda creepy if you ask me.

I was not looking forward to painting the top of this beast.  Fortunately for me some jammy wearing crazy lady showed up and offered to paint.  We fed her dinner and off she went.

Kitchen hutch almost done

Here's the kitchen hutch that has been consuming most of my time recently.  It still needs doors and knobs but it's far enough to get out of my shop.  This is mostly solid Red Oak.  The top is about 2" think and it's a beast.  The center section is wine bottle storage.

Kitchen Ipad Holder

Miranda seen this on one of the blogs she reads.  This is made from pallet wood.  I think it's Oak.  All the build supplies were free minus about 25 cents worth of Walnut oil to finish.  Pottery barn sells these for 35 bucks.

This hinge is off the old Sellers cabinet.

Rustic bar stool #3

Well I finally finished rustic bar stool #3.  The legs are just cheap 2x4 material (not even sanded) and the top is oak.  It's very wide and quite comfortable.  The legs were stained dark then given one light coat of yellow-ish paint.

Collect the whole set.

Oh but wait, rustic bar stool #2 'tips over too easy'.  So it's back to the drawing board for the rustic bar stool collection.  Drew's reaction was the same as mine.

Natural edge cutting board

I had a leftover piece of natural edge walnut from another project I have going on.  I made this cutting board/serving board.  The finish is just mineral oil.

Rolling pin

I made this rolling pin for mom.  I didn't see the big knot when I started, but I guess it's fine now as this will most likely be for display purposes.  The wood is oak and purple heart.

Natural edge coasters

There's a big Oak tree across the hiking trail behind our house.  Avery and I cut off part of a limb and I made some coasters.

My new chop saw is so fun to use.  I went a little crazy...

Cheese board

I made this cheese board from maple and walnut.  It's finished with walnut oil.

Cutting board

I started this end grain cutting board probably 6 months ago.  It sat in various build stages for a long time.  I finally finished it up and put on a coat of mineral oil.  These are supposed to be really good for knives as the end grain of the wood does little to dull them.
