Shop furniture up-cycle

For a while now, management has been hinting at how well my miter saw stand would work as a dresser.  I don't see it, but since my chop saw is out for repair, the timing is right to give it a try.

The base is in good shape but the top, not so much.  It has water damage from a less than stellar storage unit.  There is also a big split in the top.

After fixing the split, scraping, sanding, planing, then more sanding, the top looked good except for a few spots.

The water damage was too deep and couldn't be removed.  Re-staining was not an option.

I ended up going with black milk paint and wax.  If this gets a thumbs down I just dig up some pine and make a new top.

More pens

A co-worker is traveling to India this week so I made a bunch of pens for the guys/gals over there.  It's the least I could do as they bust it every day and make me look good.

Wood nut

Miranda lost a nut on her (she days our) new vacuum. I didn't have the right size so I made one.

Yes, of course it works.

Kitchen Ipad Holder

Miranda seen this on one of the blogs she reads.  This is made from pallet wood.  I think it's Oak.  All the build supplies were free minus about 25 cents worth of Walnut oil to finish.  Pottery barn sells these for 35 bucks.

This hinge is off the old Sellers cabinet.
